A new Lumière

The number of people who visit Lumière has more than doubled over the last ten years. Slowly we have grown a bit too big for our current location. That’s why we are going to move to the Sphinx-district.

Let’s go Lumière!

Lumière will move to a brand new location with a familiar feel, where we will continue to do the things we do best: to show quality films, in the easy-going atmosphere our visitors have come to expect from us. Our new venue will have better and more comfortable auditoriums, extended opening hours and allow for even more special screenings and activities. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a lunch or dinner and take in the view from our beautiful terrace by the water.

The new venue will also be a place where people can meet and feel at home no matter your age or nationality. Where lovers of all things film can exchange thoughts, come into contact with likeminded spirits and blooming talent has a platform to screen their very first experiments. More than before Lumière will also be a place where people can find room to set up network-meetings, organise a conference etc.

In short, a brand new Lumière with a strong hint of the familiar, located in the elegantly refurbished building of the former Sphinx-earthenware factory, an emblem of our historical and internationally oriented city.

We welcome anyone to follow us on our new adventure. Keep an eye out for updates and news on this website. Until the time that we’re finally able to open the doors of our new venue, summer 2016, we of course hope to still welcome you at our current location.
